I'm no expert on this but I would say that the 'best' pads would depend on how the car is driven.
You would need a different set up for track use than for general road use.
For general use I can't see why you could not use standard focus stuff on the rear. I have Ferodo pads in the front and I have no complaints.
But...if you're going out on track then it could be a different ball game. If you search about on the forum you should find some info, but it looks like there's a bit of personal choice and opinion involved. :)

Cheers Paul 068 has only done 26000 miles I have had it 3 years and covered less than 1000 miles

at present it still has original pads installed

they still seam to have plenty left on them

just change brake fluid and seals on alcons

may as well change pads as well

Regards

26K miles, wow 8) What was the condition of the Alcons?
Mine is on 83K now. That will not be increasing a lot now though as it's not a daily driver any more.
:?: there is a list of FRPs on the PP forum and #068 is on there as being written off :?:
Think someone has got the wrong info somewhere.

Alcons were in decent condition gave them a good clean with brake cleaner
The car has had 3 owners
First owner was a guy in Sheffield who worked at Dixon ford
He owned are for 9 year
He the sold car to a guy in Hartlepool who had it for a year
I am the third owner
Car seems generally in good condition just passed mot no issues
Car had original tyres on when I bought it and sift has original exhaust
The car is one of the 80 with a LSD
Car has private plate R13 GAP
This plate was put on by first owner George Arthur Priestley
The car seems to have a traceable history

Sounds like a nice one mate, impressive history.
Mine (number 8, reg L4 FRP) is a bit of a tart...it's been about a bit
Without checking I think I'm the 6th owner, been looked after though I think. Previous owner had it for 7 years, no history from before that, it was a cat D in 2007. Front end damage but only panels as far as I can tell.
That does not bother me though as it only affects the resale value and I don't intend selling it :)

If you want proper braking power and long lasting pads you cannot do better than Porsche TEXTAR pads, Pt. N0. 20877 175 0 4 T428. [as fitted to 911[V,H]944[VA]968[V,H]and Audi RS2.] You need to run them in properly, half a dozen brakings [not to a complete stop] from 60 mph, gradually increasing the braking pressure.

I have greenstuff on mine and they are a really good pad, no squealing on every day use but also hold out on the track
