When we bought the puma at the weekend I thought there was a problem with the Cat as it sounded like it was blowing.

I got under the car tonight and looking at it I would say that it has still got the original cat (has a puma build manifold and piper exhaust), now getting someone to rev the car upto about 3-4k then comming off it sounds like a rattle comming from the heat shield, is this a common problem and if so how do most people fix it???

I'll try and get a pic up of the cat so someone can say yes or no if its the original or not.

Thanks

Si

Mine used to rattle on the old exhaust.
Cured it for good when the new Piper one was fitted. :D

Heat shield is in the shed on a shelf

It could be vibrations on the heat shield in the engine bay at certain RPM, check all the bolts are in as I'm sure I read somewhere that some of the bolts aren't replaced when fitting a new manifold (but I might be making that bit up!!)
