I have recently bought V6 FRP,I have noticed that the brakes are making a very high pitched squeeling. I have done a calapor clean but it hasnt cured the squeeling much,is there anything else Ican do to sort this ?? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum good to see V6 joining V4 on the forum. Where abouts are you located as it would be good sometime in the future to reunite V4 and V6. I'm hoping in the future that we may be able for their 10th anniversary of toddling off to the USA to reunite V1 - V6 would you be interested?

V4 also squeels like nothing on earth I've just got used to it!!

I am located in the scottish borders,so a bit far away. Dont think I would have the funds to take my car to america. Dont know if I could get used to the squeeling brakes and dont like when people are looking at my car for all the wrong reasons!!

You did put the copper grease on the back of the pads, not the front that contacts with the disc

yes, the frp pads have backing shims to prevent the squeel, plus a little copper grease works perfectly! See the pic below :D

copper grease will be a waste of time if there are other 'issues'...... when were the calipers last stripped down and rebuilt?...

if this is left for too long the calipers become slowly ruined! as pads and pistons will all become very seized....

could you post them off to be rebuilt maybe?..sounds like they need it

did you take all the pad rails off when you stripped them down??

as this is what causes the pad to get trapped, they oxidise so bad behind them rails and gradually push the pad rail out and cause the pad to squeal as well.

mine hardly ever squeal due to keeping these rubbed down and copper grease on the pads, but some frp's squeal non stop i dont know how they put up with it :-)

pumabuild used to stock the shims but think they have all gone, must be someone who can supply them? alcon maybe.

Not thinking of a reunion in America somewhere in the middle of the country my funds wouldn't stretch to taking FRUP to USA either. Any chance of you making it to Castle Coombe where it looks like V4 and V5 will be together this year.
