Handling

I've seen a couple of comments about the handling in the wet. What happens? So far (only a year admittedly) nothing's happened, I've tried. Do I expect the same as I had in my old RS2000 - which could be really scary! (Sideways from one side of the track to the other up the Kraner Curves at Donington with three up). I just find the handling so much better than the RS and about the same amount of fun, the noise is very nearly the same too.

The back end tends to let go on you with no warning. It's ok if you are pushing hard and expecting something to happen, but a lot of people think the handling is so good that it'll never lose grip! Hence the warning we give people when the first pick up their FRP.
Most cars give you a hint if they are going to swap ends before they do, but the FRP doesn't - its all down to the wide tyres and the large rear end!

I find the car fine in the wet but obviously my style of driving changes. Although i did tickle the throttle a little coming out of a bend in the wet and found the back end just step out massively very easily!! but was totally controllable.

Are you talking "OLD" RS2000 rwd or older fwd?
I could drive my last RWD Escort sideways at 85mph + and provided I was only looking out the side windows to see where I was going, everything would be OK
I was running Bilstien suspension and a quick rack. I could always catch it
I can get my FRP loosing grip front and back (twitching) in the wet, but with nowhere near the confidence.
In the dry, its sensational

In the dry, Wugsy can out handle car that "tries it on".
In the wet, just ignore them

Tx. Although it's probably silly, I might just have to test it in the wet, will just have to pick the place carefully. Chap who sold Perry to me said it was very sure footed in the wet and I hadn't heard of frpoc at that time, so didn't check anything out - although it wouldn't have made a difference. The RS was a Mk2 - I had two of them, the first was stolen - and very very sideways slippy in the wet. Not always fun. But overall a fun car.
