In the glove compartment of my FRP was a presentation box and inside an unused aluminium gear knob with clear medallion inset that says 467 /1500. It certainly looks very genuine and the box has FORD written all over it..Can anybody enlighten me?
Was it maybe a Puma owners meeting and the first 1500 got a commemerative gear knob as a treat?

I saw an FRP for sale in March (up near Monmouth) that had one of those with it. Odd to see them with FRPs, as I THINK. That they were given to the first 1500 puma buyers. Could be wrong...

They were given away at a few special events Ford organised I believe.
Pop up on EBay from time to time, which is where mine came from.

THAT'S IT!!
I have the Mk1 single piece version...mind you, it may well evolve in to a Mk2 (like yours) ....with use...
Maybe they're "for display only"...
Thanks

They were given away to the first 1500 owners ofstandard pumas when they were released.

We found a box load at Ford Fair back in 2002/03 and many puma owners at the time purchased, a few come up on ebay now and then. I have 2 or 3 at home :)
