Advise regarding Oil & Tyres

I have recently purchased a 'Ford Racing Puma' and I am looking for some advise please.

The current pirellis dont look anything special in my opinion.

I like the Toyo as a good all rounder.

The oil ford specify is 5w50 semi and I usually use their Formula E available from the parts counter. However I'm aware they're phasing this out now in favour of supplying only Formula F which is full synth.

I've previously used Halfords own 5w30 semi quite happily though. Anything which conforms to the SAE Ford specified should in theory be fine.

Have always used Mobil1 Fully synth personally...

Tyres...mm, how long have you got...

The toyo's are very soft rubber and sidewalls in my opinion....

My personal fav as a good all rounder is the Michelin Pilot Exalto....expensive tho..

if budget doesn't stretch to that, you can't beat Perada Spec 2's for the money...they are insane grippy in the dry...

I use Castrol Magnatec 5w30 which is fully synthetic, and have found it stays a lot cleaner throughout use than the Ford oil used to.

I use Yoko Parada Spec 2 tyres, and love them to bits; however others swear by different products which suit their driving style. What sort of use if your car likely to see? Any track action?

I like dirty oil at changing, for me it says it picked up any crud in the engine as it cirulated to my none mechanical mind.

Tyres... The FRP for the best handling is not about budgeting on the tyres, depends on your preference and on how you want to use your car

Thanks for all of the advise, I'm still not 100% which ones I am going to buy yet but I wont be using the car for the track

seriously not the best choice by far!...

for VERY similar money...the yoko Paradas are wayyyyy better...

also, i'm not bigging them up because i have them fitted either...i currently use P7000's...

Having driven (and serviced) over 50 now... tyre choice is pretty crucial on the FRP... and the Toyo's are just not up to the handling in any way...

You really do need a tyre that has good strength and design on the FRP...sidewall construction is crucial to get the right feedback....

The next big question is where should I put them? (on the car obviously ).

There are two good 'Pirelli P Zero Nero's' on the car too, these are higher rated and more expensive tires, would you leave them on the front, or move them to the back?

Probably want the softer tyres on the back. Otherwise your tail will slide out well happy.
But then these softer tyres are less good in the wet so then you are unbalanced again with the fronts.

Personally you should get 4 new tyres (always better to be matched) and stick the other two on Ebay

It's a good idea to keep a bit of weight in the boot of a FRP too, the back end can let go very quickly in the wet.
Especially if you fit those "excellent" Parada's on the back
( sacks of ballast required)
I have a 12" sub and amp, some members carry a spare wheel or have a 15" one in a standard Puma cage under the boot floor.
Depends on how enthusiastically you drive

I didn't like the toyos I had on mine, I now have pirelli pzeros and they are much much better! Well worth the extra pennies
And ford now use formula f oil which is full synthetic, I would go for that, or castrol
