Hi there can anyone recommend/vouch for a professional careful mechanic in the Essex/Suffolk area (who can operate on my baby!) and change the cam belt on an FRP, and therefore also has the sacred cam belt tool for FRPs.

I gather Alan is the man but I dont really fancy the trek to Birmingham!

& before anyone asks I have only owned the car for a couple of months and it has only just ticked over into 8000 miles as it was previously owned by a car collector. :D

Many thanks in advance
Steve

There is indeed it's in fantastic condition as well, I should have managed to sort it out as a signature now (took me ages - newbie alert!) so hopefully people can see it, although it needs a bit of a polish. :D

Thanks Rob although when I click on the link it states I am not authorised to read this forum, I'm a fully paid up member so should I contact one of the administrators to push a button for me on my profile, or am I being a tool and need to do something in my account settings? thanks!

I thought I was, but in my defence I was given a hearing test at Work on Tuesday evening and told I'm going deaf...
In fact over half the factory work force are, Ototoxic effect of the chemicals we use ?

Hi Graham basically it is one of two cars (of the 500) that does not have a manifold number the other being 'SHOWCAR' in a museum in Italy.

There are a couple of small variants on the story, but I gather Ford dontated the car to the BEN charity, whom auctioned the car to raise money with the winner having their name engraved on the manifold. The winner was the Sky Ford dealership in Hemel Hempsted who bid £28k. I am currently writing to the former owners to confirm there version of the story and I gather there are some press articles on the car (albeit local press), and I'm hoping they still have them.

The build schedule number was number 79 (not the same as the manifold number) and it states SKY as the manifold number in Peters bible. 8)

I look forward seeing it and you at future meets.
Are you bringing to Combe in about 3 weeks ?
Rallyday, I'm pretty sure there are spare stand tickets.

Now V5 has a new cambelt I wonder if you've yet bounced off the rev limiter yet and where V5's limit is.
