Looking to spend abot £6500 - £7000 on the FRP.

new 17" vw grand prix alloys
4 newish uniroyal tyres
just been serviced at 57k had new pads fitted.
Full VWSH
Long life service intervals
Black
Storage pack
Luxury pack

Looking for at least 3k cash and an FRP. Need to clear some debts!

I would say around the £6500 mark Ed, as I would value mine at around £9500.
I may have to bite the bullet and let it go cheaper. I have seen an FRP on the Autotrader site at £5500, it is number 419. Anyone know anything about it?

id say an frp with sound brakes, exhaust and body would roughly be worth in excess of 9k easily!

not to say there isnt bargains out there mind, but your looking at roughly £800 for an exhaust system and most frps now are starting to fail due to them being made from mild steal. Brakes are another expensive part that unless they have been serviced regularly or at all can lead to a very expensive overhaul. What may seem like to be a bargain may turn out to be very expensive choice. Take a look at our buyers guide to get more of a picture of what to look out for.

Yes you do have to keep in mind with a FRP does not come cheap.We got our FRP for £6200 back in october 07.It was up for £6700 with full ford service history.The history did sell it to me as the other owners always had the alcons replacments discs pads pistons sets etc etc.the recall done on the rear brake hoses.it was a good read for all the cars history.But ive just added up what we have spent on her since we got her and it is another £1659.50.And its still not over as we are getting her resprayed aswell.The last bill was today with the lamba sensor FROM FORDS at £121.87 to me .A lot of this money was doing the brake conversion adding up the alcons pads discs piston replacment was going to be about £850 900 ISH.So i went to HI-SPEC brakes and got 300m discs up rated pads and there new four piston with dust shields blue calipers which look the same colour as the alcons for £704.02.So the next time she needs front dics it will cost about £160.00 instead of £450.00.I do still have my alcons.Ive done new waterpump timing belt clutch front pads and discs full service K&N panel filter OMP lower stut brace.Some of these things did not have to be done right away but i wanted to do them.A lot of the work was done by me and my brother in law as i can go to my works and use a ramp at any time i need to that keeps the cost down.So basicly if you want a very good conditon FRP then look for paying a bit more for one.And make sure they have all invoices to back up what has been done to the car.

Very good advice from frp 379i looked at a good few before getting frp 0216 just for the reasons above (all that glitters is not gold).
You need money to fall back after you buy one to maintain and look after it correctley.
Cos these will be a Rare and very sort after model in such a very short lenght of time.You only have to see one on the road and you want to buy and own one

I dont think anyone on here would Ed, thats why we are members of the RPOC and not the golf equivalent.

No offence meant to the Golf owner, just that as said by bigste just seeing an FRP on the road brightens up the day, whereas id easily lose count of how many golfs i see on a daily basis.
