The car was overhauled last year and all the important parts were replaced:
- New clutch and concentric slave cylinder
- Full Powerflex bush kit installed
- New powder-coated lower arms
- New OE track rod ends
- New OE ball joints
- New OE Eibach suspension struts all round and OE top mounts
- New OE Alcon discs and Alcon pads on the front, along with a caliper service (by Eldude)
- New Pagid discs and pads on the rear
- New OE wheel bearings all round and brand new hubs on the front
- The cambelt, water pump and thermostat were replaced for peace of mind
- Underbody restoration with Epoxy mastic paint and new exhaust heat shields and retaining clips.
The car is standard apart from a full stainless steel exhaust system, sports cat and stainless steel manifold (the original FRP tailpipe is retained); it also has a K&N panel filter.
The interior is in excellent condition, the wear on the seats and steering wheel is minimal and the original over mats are present along with the Ford CD player.
Supagard was applied to the front end of the car at the dealership when it was new. Recently I have had this removed as after 12 years it was starting to show its age. When the Supagard was removed, it damaged the paint (I was warned this may happen), so the car benefits from a full front end re-spray, so there are absolutely no stone chips. At the same time I had the sills, the front of the quarter panels and the rear arches painted, so the bodywork is in excellent condition. I have recently given the car an oil change and clayed & waxed the car and it looks fantastic.
As you can see from the photographs the car has been well cared for and no expense has been spared. I have also collected a lot of literature that will be included in the sale; a file full of magazine reports, how to guides, the original sales brochure and the all-important numbered owner’s manual. I will also include a CD with many photographs of the car during my ownership and previous owner, who was also a club member (Speckoid).
If you have any questions or would like to view the car, please send a message and I will get back to you. The car is only advertised here at the moment, I may put it on pistonheads soon, but I would prefer it to go to a true enthusiast.
The car is located in Wrexham, North Wales.
