Hi Everyone
After 2 ½ years of FRP ownership the time has come for me to sell my Ford Racing Puma (FRP). This fine example of an FRP is number 432 of 500 built by Tickford between 1999 and 2000.
The car benefits from having a full body re-spray which was carried out towards the end of 2009. During the re-spray, I took the opportunity of having the lower rear quarter seam welded and blended into the sill to stop any future corrosion occurring, as this area is a bit of a hot spot for rust on these cars. New weather stripping, rear quarter windows and various new trim (including rear quarter interior panels) and grilles were also fitted at this time.
Following the re-spray the vehicle was taken to Paint Shield in Peterborough and the front bumper and rear quarters were covered with their fantastic protective film to keep the dreaded stone chips at bay! Unlike a lot of FRP's out there, the brakes on this car have been regularly maintained and are in excellent condition. The vehicle has been recently fitted with the correct original specification Alcon discs, and the callipers were completely overhauled, anodised and repainted at the same time by an independent Alcon specialist (the one the only…. eldude!) who is well known and respected within Racing Puma circles.
The car comes with a comprehensive history file, containing receipts for servicing and repairs from 2002 to the present day, a summary of which I have attached below. The cam belt was replaced a year ago and the vehicles timing was set using the correct FRP specific timing tool by the RS Ford specialist "Tremona Garage" in Southampton. The engine is in excellent order and drives extremely well without any idle issues, will rev freely up to the rev limiter and in my ownership has been run religiously on Shell/BP 99 octane fuel. The front suspension bushes have also been replaced, whilst the rear bushes have been upgraded to the Power Flex items which are more durable than the standard items.
The interior is complete and is in excellent condition with little or no bobbling of the seats, and the steering wheel is clean and free from rips, bobbles and tears. The vehicle has always been driven with covers on the seats in my ownership.
The vehicle will come with the desirable FRP number plate; I will also throw in a subscription to the RPOC as this is the ultimate support line to any FRP owner! Stainless steel exhaust manifold and system fitted and comes complete with the legendary Racing Puma "overrun crackle"! If anyone is interested please feel free to PM me or contact me on 07901 916355. The vehicle was recently valued by Ed at the Duxford meet at around £7,500. I am however looking for offers in the region of £6,000, which I think is a fair price given the condition of the vehicle. MOT and Tax till August 2011.
