Just joined up to the site as my other half has decided to sell her fiesta zetec s mk5 and buy a racing puma :D
it happened because she has always like them when we have been to shows but thought the insurance would be way too high as shes only 20 and im a range rover tech by trade which is never good for insurance so with me on it, it would be too expensive but it turns out its only £100 more than what we were paying on her fiesta! SO........we are now going to start looking to buy one :)
Other cars we have are a base 3 door fiesta mk3.5, a matt black fiesta si and my stripped out mk4 escort running rs2000 power. (2.3 turbo build in progress) so we love our fords, gonna be nice to own a limited one such as a frp, really excited!
looking forward to speak to you all,
Fonfe & Anita

welcome along to both of you

one thing though make sure 100% that your insurnace states racing puma on the document as sometimes just using the reg number only brings up the cars as standard pumas.

when you fill out forms you have to use 1999 not 2000 to find the frp.

only reason i say is that if it doesnt state racing puma then you would only get paid out a 1999 standard puma price. allthough the state of frp prices at the mo with people letting them go for silly money under 5k isnt too far off a standard puma anyway.

allthough ive still seen some selling for their right price between 6-8k :-)

good luck

alan and 241.

thats exactly what i said when she called me to tell me it wasnt as expensive as we have always thought! lol so when i got home i searched the net found an ad in piston heads that showed a reg number put it in and it did come up with ford racing puma at the same price :)

right we have found one we like and have put down a deposit on the car and anita is picking it up on thursday! :D
it needs a bit of love and the rocker cover cover is leaking so ill need to sort that but overall a good result :)
i do have a question though, the rocker cover gaskets, they arent the same as the normal 1.7 puma by any chance are they? or will i have to order one from pumabuild?
cheers in advance :)
