As you've probably seen I'm got myself a racing puma shell. Not sure of the number yet but will try and get some history on it.

Plan is to restore it with a few unique touches. Original plan was to convert my current puma to racing spec, but can't beat building the genuine article.

Rebuilt my Monte Carlo escort cossie from a bare shell, but that's now gone to a collector so it's onto my mk1 escort cosworth build. But seeing as my 5 month old daughter is taking up time, my mate is welding that car up in his spare time and I wanted something to tinker with whilst I wait.

I've been a fan since the launch of the racing puma and when I was working for BMW Rover on the mini project, we had one of the racing pumas on the fleet as a benchmark car. Since then I've always wanted one. My time has finally come so now the challenge begins in finding genuine parts to rebuild.

After measuring up a spare ST 5cyl I have and realising the amount of time needed to fit that I'm onto plan B, with a worked 1.7 on throttle bodies. However, I do have my eye on a 1.6 fiesta ST ecoboost engine as another option.

But I'm way off the engine phase. Its corrosion protection and underseal first. But I'll be needing some bits a long the way so always happy to hear of parts for sale.

Looking forward to sharing my progress.

We bought it for its dynamic performance vs ride comfort. We we're developing the new 1.6 supercharger at the time with 165 bhp. It was just a shame the puma spent so much time in the garage with warranty issues.

Welcome Fozy, can't wait to see how you progress. Are you making a build thread?

Yeah I'd like to, but I've not figure the best part of the board to post it. Where do people normally post? I've only got access to about 5/6 areas on the board.

Welcome :D
Be good to know what number it is or maybe you just have a chassis number.
I can't recall the sections you see as a none memebr to say which would be best to use, but look forward to following your build.
As a member you would gain access to information that might help you in rebuilding.

I am a member, got my membership number now, just don't seem to have access to pages other than the basic forum it would appear.

Got no clue what the number of the car was, but I like a challenge. Picked up a donor tonight, complete puma black with leather for 138 quid, mot till Nov, but no tax and a weeping head gasket.

I can't help with making your account work on the forum fully, this would must likely be a moderator perhaps.
The chassis number is liekly to give it away.
Bargain as you could get that money back selling the complete interior.

I think I may have updated your profile to give you more access but have to say I'm about as much use on a computer as I am with a spanner in my hand. Let me know if things have improved, please.
