Hi everyone. I'm in the market for a well maintained FRP and this forum looks like the perfect place to start. I've been hunting around for a while for a car that was as much fun to drive as my old Puma (unfortunately written off 9 years ago) but had never found something suitable, until now that is. I've already seen a number of people on the forum who are considering giving their cherished FRPs a new home and want to get in touch with them.

Hi, I'm Dhyllan I currently own a Ford Focus RS mk1 and have recently bought an FRP that has been neglected. I'm looking to bring her back to her former glory and this forum seems like the right starting point. Could I have access to all areas please. If I need to be a paid member - could I have the link please

Hi there.

I am the new owner of FRP # 223. I'm adding this post, as Im having trouble adding posts on any other area that I have access to at the moment. I would also like to become a paid-up member, but from some threads that I've been reading, I'm left to belive that no new mwmbers are being accepted due to admin issues.

Can someone please up-date me on the membership issue, and allow me access to all other areas.

My car needs a lot of TLC, and I think other members will be able to help on some issues, whereas others will be interested to read about my journey.

Cheers, Dave

Hello Members,
I have recently bought a FRP engine & box, with the intention being to replace the current standard 1.7 fitted in my kitcar.
I'm sure to have many questions that hopefully the community can answer.

Thanks in advance.

Hello to all THE club members and thanks for having me.

lve joined the club as lm on the lookout for a FRP and not complete may l add but a rolling car or shell for rebuilding as money is tight with a wife and 3 little ankle biter's.l hope that l may find new friends and enjoy my passion for proper Racing Ford's and not the mass produced rubbish with an RS badge(volvo engine) or plastic bimbo fezzie's and the likes.

So please choose me for your Blind date and l promise to Fulfil,Respect and Pamper you's.........

Hi,im new to the RPOC. iv bought a racing puma that was stripped basically to a rolling shell. I was wondering if any one would be able to help me find out what number she was? All i have is the reg number, so any help would be much appreciated. Also me and my brother are currently turning her into a race car, which we are going to run in britcar production next year. I will be posting pics of the project as it progresses. Regards Ben

Hi, her reg no is X656VOO. The previous owner thought she was in the 400's but can't remember. Any help would be great, we don't need the number for racing but it would just be nice to know. Cheers!

Welcome :)

Great to hear you are going to be running an FRP in britcar :) Is that the rolling shell that had the ford rallye sport stickers on it that was on eBay? It also had a spare 1.7 puma with it?

Make sure you take lots of pics of the build and post them up here on thread. There are a few competition pumas now, glad to see as they are great little cars. We run a 1.6 Puma Cup in CSCC Tin Tops.

Hi Lisa,
I know your car as we've raced with you in CSCC, didn't you have the fiesta before as well? How are you getting on this year, we've been doing other championships so have lost touch with CSCC. Anyway, the body shell is a plain, untouched FRP, it was brought by Pumabuild as a complete car and stripped for bits, Alan offered it to us at a bargain price and as we've always fancied building a FRP racer it seemed like the right car. The only problem is that I think the engine was still warm when it got sold and Alan can't remember what number she is.
The prep will begin in earnest after our last race in september and we will post pictures as we go if people are interested, we have prototyped some components already and got the cage in the workshop waiting to be fitted. It's going to be quite an undertaking as Britcar Production Cup is very competitive but we'll give it a go.
Good look at Donington by the way!
Cheers

I'm afraid i can't help you with the number of your FRP as such, but i have a bit of information on the car.

Registration Plate: X656 VOO
Vin Number: WF0CXXGAECYC48210
Registration Location: Chelmsford
Registration Date: 04/11/2000
Build Date: 03/05/2000

Notes: Going by dates of other cars, an educated guess would suggested yours is between 300 and 320. However the build dates don't go in order so thats not 100%, the majority of the Number 400's FRP's where built in the months of April/May in the year 2000. But saying that, your registration plate fits in with the last half of the 400 cars.

From the information i have, yours was one of the last FRP's to be registered. It's first owner was also a Ford employee and the car was bought under Ford's Management Scheme.
FRP: 190.

Hi

Ah cool, sorry, didn't see your name in the post, so don't know who you are!! :?:  Yes we had the XR2i as well, its back up for sale again with the new owner at a billy bargain price.

We're not doing too bad this year, we've had some down's, driveshaft failure when doing well overall at Snetterton, but also some up's Class win at Spa Summer Classic and also Class win and 7th overall at Castle Combe :)

Ross has just built up an FRP track car, hopefully he'll be out racing with us in CSCC too next year.

It'll be good to see your build pics, so definitely post them up. I'm sure the little FRP will do well, it's great handling standard, so tuned up it will be a monster.

Thanks, looking forward to Donny, haven't been out since Castle Combe in July, I'll have forgotten how to drive it!! :|

I'll speak to Ed see if he knows what number yours was.

cheers

That's more info about the car than anyone else has managed. How do you find this stuff out? It's amazing the knowledge that people have about these cars.
Finding out the number has become a bit of a mission, not that it will affect the cars performance! Is there anything else on the car to help with identification?
You'll have to let me know if there is.
Thanks again for all the help.
Al

Hello everyone, I am considering buying a Racing Puma in the future, so it seems a good idea to join the Racing Puma Owners club.

My son and I have been upgrading a std 1700 Puma, we have now fitted ST160 suspension, AP 4 pot calipers with 285mm discs ( on original 15" 9 spoke alloys ). We are in the process of fitting the ST160 exhaust manifold with race tube and single back box. All the above items were brand new but acquired by searching the online auction sites.

We have possibly spoken to 2 members at the Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb, August meeting, and therefore hope to meet more members at various gatherings in the future.
