Hi just wondered if anyone knew if the belt on the drivers side of the engine has a special frp pulley or if it is a normal 1.7 one? I had bought a pulley from euro car parts as mine has a slight squeek which was driving me crazy, left it with a garage but they say that it is the wrong part? Any thoughts?

Hi,

I like you think that they are the same, though there are one or two guys on the site that work for Ford and know much more than I do, hopefully they will confirm.

There are plenty of 'pulleys' there...identifying which one is squeeling can be a real pain...

How does a belt squeel...

The fead belt is just a standard puma part...none of that stuff is FRP specific...

Mine was squeaking last year and I found it was the top idler pulley but there was nothing special about it. Took me about twenty minutes to change the aux belt and the pulley. Sure their the same as the standard puma, maybe they haven't supplied you with the correct part ?.
