Hi guys,

Bought my puma a month or so ago now after wanting one for a long time!

Definately lives up to expectations... so much fun to drive!

Cheers,

Jamie

Hi Jamie,
Congratulations on your purchase.
Some smashing roads around your part of the world to enjoy a FRP
Becareful in the wet...The back end can let go suddenly.

Plenty of information available on this forum if you need any help or where to find bits.

Look forward to seeing you at one of the meets.

Welcome Jamie

Enjoy, I'm sure you will.

As above watch that rear  in the wet, having said that ar5e end play can often be entertaining and as long its deliberate course of action :D

Welcome :D
As you joined after you purchased, what is the service history like?
Has the cam belt been changed, when were the brakes last over hauled?

Welcome aboard mate. Be careful with that ar5e end all the time as it's never anything other than wet at the moment !!

Thanks for the welcome!

Yeah I've already noticed that the back end's quite happy to step out in anything damp! No more so than my old Zetec S though and makes it a bit more of an interesting drive in the wet!

speedline: The service history is a bit patchy as the previous owner had been getting it serviced by a mechanic friend so not so many stamps in recent years. I'm going to be doing the same though with a ford mechanic I know so that doesn't bother me too much and it seems to be running fine so far (some noisy tappets but they aren't bad enough yet to need repairing). The cam belt I'm fairly certain was changed pretty recently so that's good, brakes seem fine with not too much wear (not looking forward to the bill when they need changing though!)

I was reading the prodrive website today and noticed that they were involved in creating the racing puma:
"In recent years, Prodrive has engineered limited edition cars such as the Racing Puma, Schumacher Fiat Stilo, Focus RS, Mazda RX PZ and the Alfa Romeo Brera S."
I hadn't been aware of this before so read and found that they bought Tickford in 2000. As the racing puma was made in 1999 though I was wondering if they had any other input before the purchase of Tickford? Anybody know anything about it?

Cheers,

Jamie
